Slide the key into the deadbolt keyhole and turn it clockwise as far as it will go. If you turn the key far enough, the door should lock. To remove the key, turn it counter-clockwise back to the position at which you slid it in – but no further! Pull the key out of the keyhole.
Manual transmission models
Check that the shift lever is in N. Then depress the brake pedal with your right foot, and the clutch pedal with your left foot. The clutch pedal must be fully depressed to start the engine.The Smart Entry System is a newer technology feature that makes it possible to lock and unlock your vehicle without using a key or a key fob. As long as it is within 32 inches of the vehicle, the system will work correctly.
On some vehicles, all you have to do is press the dead key fob against the start button to start your engine. If the spare key fob does not start the engine, the problem isn't a dead key fob battery or defective fob. The problem is in the keyless entry system, Start button circuitry or possibly the engine computer.
To deactivate the security system alarm
Unlock the vehicle using the remote transmitter or keyless access system*, or the ignition switch is turned to ON II*1. The system, along with the horn and flashing lights, is deactivated.The average price for parts and programming for a replacement key is $90-140. Prices will vary mainly because it depends on the type of remote and key your vehicle calls for.
Another method is to use a door stop (or wedge) and a long metal rod. Then, you take the same approach, inserting the wedge into the top of the door to make an opening. Place the rod into the opening and use it to push down on the unlock button of your car.
You can also use the HondaLink® “Convenience at a Touch” feature. These include remote start and remote lock and unlock, so you can start, lock, and unlock your car from faraway.
The only way to lock yourself out with a single FOB is as follow; You must have all of the vehicle's doors closed first, then open one back door, press the lock button on the FOB remove the battery, place the FOB inside the car and closed the door, et voila, you are locked out (or was able to lock in the FOB).

How to Open a Trunk Without Keys
- Slide the hook end of the slimjim between the the passenger side window and window trim at the bottom of the window near the door handle.
- Feel around with the slimjim for the lock rod.
- Pull up on the lock rod with the slimjim.
- Open the door and climb into the driver's seat.
On average, it costs $50 to $250 to hire a locksmith to unlock a car, depending on the services you need and the level of work involved. These prices include the cost of the service call. No one ever wants to find themselves locked out of their car. Between the hassle and expense, it can become a major headache.
How to set-up Walk Away Auto Lock
- Press home on your display screen which is located on the top left portion of the screen right below the green power button.
- Press settings.
- Now select vehicle.
- Select keyless access setup.
- press walk away auto lock.
- Select enable.
- Then finally press OK.
