Porcelain is typically glazed or dyed to give it its long-lasting color, but over time damage can occur. Homeowners may be tempted to buy enamel paint and give the porcelain another coat, but they must choose their paint very carefully.

- Rub it in a back and forth motion over the rust stains on the porcelain sink.
- Rub the paste into the rusted areas with the pumice scouring stick until they are removed.
- Plug the sink and spray it with white vinegar.
Steps to Remove the Scratch:
- Make a loose paste from the baking soda and water. Make sure the paste is a wet one, as dry or abrasive substances should not be used on the cook top. It should be the consistency of pudding.
- Apply it directly to the COOL stove top, rubbing gently.
- Wipe clean.
- Buff dry with the second cloth.
Sand the entire surface of the stove using medium-grit sandpaper. This will help the paint adhere to the stove. Shake the spray can of paint until you hear the metal ball inside start to rattle and then shake it for a minute or two after that to thoroughly mix the paint inside.

Microwave safe paint is found in all kinds of appliance stores. Be sure that to ask a store employee if you can't find the right paint. It may be easier to buy the spray paint version of appliance paint, but as long as it's made for appliances and is microwave safe, then it should work.
