To do this, create a contact with your information like any other contact. Then, go to Settings -> Mail, Contacts, & Calendars. Scroll down to "My Info," and select the contact you just created.
Open your phone dialer and go to settings, then go to more settings, then at the top it will give you a option of showing your caller ID, carrier ID, or nothing. Good luck. Settings -> about device-> status ->My Phone Number is the phone number found on the SIM card - some carriers put it there, some don't.

It changes your number everywhere on your iPhone (That is, it doesn't change your number on the SIM or the network). An example where your number is used is under contacts in your phone app. If you scroll to the very top it displays the number you've set in the preferences. So really, it doesn't change much.
The following steps will help with programming the phone:
- Tap Settings.
- Tap General.
- Tap Reset.
- Tap Erase All Content and Settings.
- Tap Erase iPhone.
- Tap Erase iPhone again.
Hi, If all your i/c calls are showing as unknown, contact your service provider and ask if there is a problem with your account (service?) as it may not be a problem in your phone. Once reset, check that you receive the number OK on an i/c call. If so, restore the phone using the phone's restore feature.
You can change who sees your phone number:
- On your Android phone or tablet, open your device's Settings app Google Google Account.
- At the top, tap Personal info.
- Under "Choose what others see," tap Go to About me.
- Under "Personal contact info," change your sharing preference.
You can't just change the phone number of your phone like that. Your number is set when you put your sim card in the phone and the sim card gives you the number that can't be changed unless you put another sim card in your phone.
Normally, you can just go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive to change which phone numbers and email addresses are tied to your iMessage account. However, when your phone number is greyed out in this section, it means that you have not verified this number with Apple as an iMessage account.
Your iPhone itself can tell you what your number is. The first place to look is in your contacts list. Touch "Phone" then "Contacts." Scroll to the very top of the list and you'll see "My Number" Or, touch "Settings" and then "Phone." Your number is displayed at the top of the screen.
In settings: For every Android phone, regardless of manufacturer, you'll be able to find your phone number if you go to Settings > About Phone or About Device > Status > My phone number. In the example at the top, the phone number was listed under Settings > Status > SIM card status > My phone number.
To do a reverse phone number lookup on Google, simply type the phone number (area code, too) into Google.com like you see above. For example, you might type 555-555-1212 to do a reverse lookup on that phone number. For most phone number searches, you'll immediately see lots of results.
- Swipe up or down to view the apps.
- Touch Settings.
- Scroll to and touch About phone.
- Scroll to My phone number, your phone number is displayed.
