How to Add Pauses When Dialing a Number on Your Android Phone
- Type the number to dial.

Such a condition is known as a frozen keyboard. The simplest solution to such a problem is to restart or try a hard reset. In hard reset, if the iPhone or iPad gets shut normally then one just have to hold the power button until the power off slider message appears on the screen. Then try restarting the iPhone.
It's possible that your keyboard can disappear if you accidentally select outside of the keyboard or press the option to exit out of the keyboard. I do not have any third party keyboard apps installed. I do force close the app when it happens and it usually fixes the issue.
How to change your default keyboard on an iPhone
