To transform text:
- Select the text box, or select some text inside of the text box. Selecting text inside of a text box.
- On the Format tab, click the Text Effects drop-down arrow in the WordArt Styles group.
- A drop-down menu of effects will appear.
- The text will transform into the selected style.
WordArt is a text modifying feature in Microsoft Word, a popular word processing program. It includes effects such as shadows, outlines, colors, gradients, and 3D effects that can be added to a word or phrase. WordArt can be added within a Word document by selecting Insert→Picture→WordArt
Insert checkbox symbol in Word
- Put the cursor at the place you will insert the checkbox symbol, and click Insert > Symbol > More Symbols.
- In the opening Symbol dialog box, please (1) choose Wingdings 2 from Font draw down list; (2) select one of specified checkbox symbols you will add; (3) click the Insert button.
Select Insert > Text Box or Insert > WordArt. You'll find the “Insert” menu at the top of the screen. Draw your box and type your desired text in the box. Add 3D effects to the box.
Moving Text In Microsoft Word
- Click and drag the selected text where you want it.
- Copy the text by pressing ctrl-c, place the cursor where you want the text and then paste it in by pressing ctrl-v.
- Cut the text by pressing ctrl-x, place the cursor where you want the text and then paste it in by pressing ctrl-v.
Open the "Page Layout" tab by clicking it in the ribbon. Click the "Size" button in the Page Setup group in the ribbon. A drop-down menu will appear. Click the desired paper size to which you want to resize the document.
Follow these general steps.
- Place the text box in your document.
- Adjust the width of your text box to reflect what you need.
- Right-click the text box and choose Format Text Box from the resulting Context menu.
- Make sure the Text Box tab is displayed.
- Make sure the Resize AutoShape to Fit Text check box is selected.
- Choose Image > Image Size.
- Measure width and height in pixels for images you plan to use online or in inches (or centimeters) for images to print. Keep the link icon highlighted to preserve proportions.
- Select Resample to change the number of pixels in the image. This changes the image size.
- Click OK.
What visual clue indicates you are moving a floating image? The mouse cursor appears with a four-headed arrow as you drag it to its new location. Measurements appear at the top right of the image to confirm the location as you drag. The mouse cursor changes to the same symbol as when moving selected text.
Open the "Page Layout" tab by clicking it in the ribbon. Click the "Size" button in the Page Setup group in the ribbon. A drop-down menu will appear. Click the desired paper size to which you want to resize the document.
Note that if you want a multi line text box you have to use a <textarea> instead of an <input type="text"> . Increasing the font size on a text box will usually expand its size automatically. If you want to set a height that is not proportional to the font size, I would recommend using something like the following.
Find and select the image you want to resize, and then click the “Open” button. On the Home tab of the Paint toolbar, click the “Resize” button. Paint gives you the option of resizing by percentage or by pixels. It uses percentage by default, and that's fine for rough resizing.
To convert regular text into WordArt:
- Select the text you want to convert, then click the Insert tab. Clicking the Insert tab.
- Click the WordArt drop-down arrow in the Text group.
- Word will automatically create a text box for the text, and the text will appear in the selected style.
With the text box still selected, on the Format tab choose Text Effects, select Transform, and pick one of the curved shapes. Now type whatever text you want curved. In the following image I've changed the font face, size, and color. The text won't look curved until you click outside the box.
Pages won't do it but you can use Art Text 2. Thre is also a free version. Update: The free version does not allow arching/curving text. Then create a line or circle in the shape that you want your text to follow.
A drop cap (dropped capital) is a large capital letter used as a decorative element at the beginning of a paragraph or section. The size of a drop cap is usually two or more lines. The following illustration shows your options for positioning a drop cap.
To convert regular text into WordArt:
- Select the text you want to convert.
- Click the Insert tab.
- Click the WordArt command. The Quick Styles drop-down menu will appear.
- Select the desired quick style.
- Word will automatically create a text box for your text and apply the style to the text. After converting to WordArt.
