The new Philips Hue bulbs with Bluetooth are currently rolling out at retail. That lets you pair them directly with your phone without need for a Hue Bridge. To do so, you'll need to use a separate, Bluetooth-based version of the Hue app on your Android or iOS device.

What to Know
- You need a Google Home smart speaker, smart light bulbs, and the Google Assistant app for iOS or Android to set up smart lights.
- Add your bulbs in the app by going to Explore > Compass > More > Settings > Home Control > Plus (+) > Phillips Hue.

1. Cycle colors with Living Scenes. One feature that is lacking in the official Philips Hue apps is the ability to cycle through colors automatically. Living Scenes can make that happen, so you can have shades of color slowly changing until you turn a bulb off or change its setting.
With the Philips Hue application you can create two types of scenes, Image and Lights. Open the Philips Hue App and select the Room you want to create a scene. Press the plus sign button on the bottom right. Select a Photo from either the stock Philips photos or select Camera roll to select one from your device.
An attacker is able to use the ZIgbee exploit to take control of a lamp connected to your Hue Bridge. The attacker then messes with the settings of the lamp and does things like randomly change colors or brightness, making you think the bulb is glitched.
