In OneNote for the web, open the notebook you want to share. Click File > Share > Share with People. In the left column, under Share, make sure Invite people is selected. In the To box, type the email address of the person you want to invite.
Go to notebooks and sign in with your Microsoft credentials.
- You will see your notebooks. Right click the one you want to export.
- There is an option Export notebook . Click that.
- A popup window appears and you can click export to download locally (it also lets you choose where to save it).
Navigate to the notebook you want to save, right click on it, and click the Save a copy option. Note: If a dialogue box appears asking for you to allow OneNote to access your info, click Yes to continue. The Save a copy dialogue box will open. Select Save to a Microsoft Account.
Export a OneNote notebook
- In any modern Web browser, go to OneNote for the web.
- Enter your credentials for the Microsoft account containing the notebook you want to download.
- Under My Notebooks, right-click (PC) or Control-click (Mac) the name of the notebook that you want to export, and then click Export notebook.
Export notes from OneNote as a PDF
- On the page you want to export, choose File > Export.
- Under Export Current, choose what you want to export.
- Choose PDF (*pdf) > Export.
- In the Save as dialog box, choose where you want to save your file.
- Give the file a name, and choose Save.
You can only share an entire notebook.
- Tap the icon in the upper-right corner of the notebook you'd like to share.
- Tap Share.
- Choose whether to invite people or to copy the link to the notebook. Invite People to Notebook: Type names or email addresses, choose whether recipients can edit or view, and tap Send.
SkyDrive recently announced a name change to OneDrive. OneDrive is the one place for all your most important stuff, including photos, videos, and documents, and OneNote is the one place for all your notes. Together, OneNote and OneDrive enable you to access your notes on all your devices.
OneNote will upload the notebook to OneDrive and set up direct sync. You may use the OneDrive client application to move and synchronize other files, and OneNote will handle the syncing of notebooks within OneDrive automatically.
Can I use Microsoft OneNote offline? You can! You'll need to sync your notebook with OneDrive before going offline, then OneNote automatically syncs your changes as you work. If at any time you lose your Internet connection or turn it off, any pending changes will sync as soon as you're back online.
Only people who are invited will be able to open your notebook. Choose File > Share. Under Share with People, type the names or email addresses of people you'd like to share your notebook with. In the drop-down box on the right, choose whether each person can edit or just view your notebook.

Set up a Class Notebook in Teams using existing content
- First, navigate to the General channel in your class team and select the Class Notebook tab.
- Select Set up a OneNote Class Notebook > From existing notebook content.
- Preview the section groups that will be included in your Class Notebook before selecting Next.
- Select + Add content underneath Content Library.
