- Click Backup Exec applet --> Installation and Licensing --> Install Agents & Media Servers on Other Servers.
- Click on the Drop Down Menu under Add.
- From the Select the Remote Product under Choose the Product to Install: Select Agent for Windows Systems.

On the Backup Exec navigation bar, select Devices. Select Robotic Libraries, and then select the robotic library for which you are setting up the cleaning. Click Slots to display the library's slots in the right pane. Select the slot that contains the cleaning tape.
Simplified Disaster Recovery (SDR) is automatically installed with Veritas Backup Exec. It provides disaster recovery on Windows computers where the Agent for Windows is installed. Veritas Backup Exec uses the system-level information from the SDR backup job to rebuild the server and restore it to a functional state.

To check the version:
- Go to Backup and Restore tab.
- Right click the remote server and click on Details.
- Click on Properties tab and it will show the Version of Remote agent installed as shown in the image below.
In the Control Panel search box, type recovery. Select Recovery > Open System Restore. In the Restore system files and setting box, select Next. Select the restore point that you want to use in the list of results, and then select Scan for affected programs.

System Restore. Restores your computer's system files to an earlier point in time without affecting your files, such as e‑mail, documents, or photos. If you use System Restore from the System Recovery Options menu, you cannot undo the restore operation.
Database recovery is the process of restoring the database to a correct (consistent) state in the event of a failure. In other words, it is the process of restoring the database to the most recent consistent state that existed shortly before the time of system failure.
Use System Restore
- Select the Start button, then type control panel in the search box next to the Start button on the taskbar and select Control Panel (Desktop app) from the results.
- Search Control Panel for Recovery, and select Recovery > Open System Restore > Next.

Troubleshoot missing restore points
- Click Start > Control Panel.
- Click System.
- Go to System Restore tab. Windows XP System Restore tab.
- Make sure the Turn off System Restore on all drives is unchecked.

The steps are as follows:
- Right-click on the folder that contained the permanently deleted file(s) or folder(s).
- Choose 'Restore previous versions. '
- From the available versions, choose the versions comprising the files & folders.
- Click 'Restore' or drag & drop the desired version at any location on the system.
The Windows 10 recovery mode can be reached by pressing an F key during the system startup. Another simple solution is to use the Start Menu's Restart option. You can even use a line-command tool to enter recovery mode.
If system restore loses functionality, one possible reason is that system files are corrupt. So, you can run System File Checker (SFC) to check and repair corrupt system files from the Command Prompt to fix the issue. Step 1. Press "Windows + X" to bring up a menu and click "Command Prompt (Admin)".
Ideally, System Restore should take somewhere between half an hour and an hour, so if you notice that 45 minutes have passed and it's not complete, the program is probably frozen. This most likely means that something on your PC is interfering with the restore program and is preventing it from running completely.
To Reset your Windows 10 PC:
- Open Settings.
- Click on Update & security.
- In the left pane, select Recovery.
- Now in the right pane, under Reset this PC, click on Get started.
- Follow the on-screen instructions carefully.
How to use the Window Startup Repair Tool
- Hold the Shift key down at the Windows sign-in screen and press the Power button at the same time.
- Continue holding the Shift key, then click Restart.
- Once the PC restarts, it'll present a screen with a few options.
- From here, click Advanced options.
If your PC cannot boot from USB, you'll need the CD/DVD-based system repair disc. Having a system repair disc around will let you troubleshoot startup problems on different PCs running the same version of Windows.
