In the save as dialog make sure you use the file format pull=down menu abd choose TIFF so you will at some point the see the tiff save option's dialog where you can choose the compression.
Well, to cut to the point, there is no difference between TIF and TIFF. They both are extensions used by the Tagged Image File Format (TIFF), which is used in storing images like photos. The appearance of TIF and TIFF is not actually related to the format itself but to limitations imposed by file systems.
TIFF is uncompressed. However, because TIFF files contain more data, the files are large and take up a lot of storage space. Thus, the number of images that can be taken and saved on recording media is limited. RAW also is uncompressed, but is like the digital equivalent of a film negative.
Open that folder, then select File, New, Compressed (zipped) folder. Type a name for the compressed folder and press enter. Your new compressed folder will have a zipper on its icon to indicate that any files contained in it are compressed. To compress files (or make them smaller) simply drag them into this folder.

TIFF FILE FORMATTIFF files are significantly larger than their JPEG counterparts, and can be either uncompressed or compressed using lossless compression. Unlike JPEG, TIFF files can have a bit depth of either 16-bits per channel or 8-bits per channel, and multiple layered images can be stored in a single TIFF file.
When it comes to TIFF, two main compression options are available–they're known as LZW or ZIP. Both ZIP and LZW are lossless compression methods. That means that no data is being lost in the compression, unlike a lossy format like JPG.
TIFF files are larger, but will not lose any quality or clarity when edited and saved repeatedly. JPEGs, on the other hand, will lose a small amount of quality and clarity each time they are saved.
In contrast to other graphic formats such as JPEG, TIFF has an alpha channel which, in addition to the color information, can also store the transparency of individual pixels. The advantage of this method is the simple and therefore fast compression and decompression of such files with lossless quality.
You can experiment with the available compression options to find the one that best suits your needs.
- From the file menu, select “Reduce File Size”.
- Change the picture quality to one of the available options besides “High Fidelity”.
- Choose which images you want to apply the compression to and click “Ok”.
The ratio of compression for TIFF is around 2:1, for PNG is around 2,7:1 and for JPEG we obtained a compression ratio of 16:1. Lossless image representation formats.
How To Use:
- Select a TIFF image (*. tif, *. tiff).
- Click button "Compress" to start upload your files.
- Once upload completed, converter will redirect a web page to show the compressed result.
How to convert raw to tiff?
- Upload raw-file. Select raw file, which you want to convert, from your computer, Google Drive, Dropbox or drag and drop it on the page.
- Convert raw to tiff. Select tiff or any other format, which you want to convert.
- Download your tiff-file.
LZW compression is the compression of a file into a smaller file using a table-based lookup algorithm invented by Abraham Lempel, Jacob Ziv, and Terry Welch. Two commonly-used file formats in which LZV compression is used are the GIF image format served from Web sites and the TIFF image format.
How to resize an image?
- Upload the photo you want to resize.
- In the drop-down menu, choose the format you want your images to be converted to.
- You can also use the DPI to change the image size when it comes to printing.
- Click on "Start" to resize your photo.
Press-and-hold the Shift key, grab a corner point, and drag inward to resize the selection area. Because you're holding the Shift key as you scale, the aspect ratio (the same ratio as your original photo) remains exactly the same.
Remove the background of a picture
- Select the picture that you want to remove the background from.
- Select Picture Format > Remove Background, or Format > Remove Background.
- The default background area will be colored magenta to mark it for removal, while the foreground will retain its natural coloring.

Step 1: Click on the browse button and select a digital photo from your computer that you wish to optimize. Step 2: Select the compression level between 0-99 that you want to apply to the image. A low compression level will result in a much smaller filesize but image quality will be lower.
PNG stands for “Portable Graphics Format”. It is the most frequently used uncompressed raster image format on the internet. This lossless data compression format was created to replace the Graphics Interchange Format (GIF). Like GIF images, PNG also have the ability to display transparent backgrounds.
