Sometimes it means that it's charging the battery. Sometimes blinking lights might even indicate a hardware failure (for instance, a failed battery, or damaged motherboard, or some other issue). You can Use a Laptop without the Battery
There is no reason why a laptop wouldn't work just fine without the battery in it, as long as you take a few aspects into account. First of all, make sure you're using the original power adapter that came with the laptop.The power button is located on the lower right edge of the computer display. To turn on the computer, press and hold the power button until the HP logo appears on the screen. After turning on the computer, a Welcome screen displays.
- Locate the port on the motherboard where the ribbon cable for the power button belongs.
- Disconnect the power button.
- Take a small conductor (a safety pin or a tiny screw driver) and connect the pins on the power button port.
- If done correctly, the circuit will close and start up the laptop.
Turn off the computer. Connect the notebook to a power source using the power adapter. Press and hold the Windows key and the B key at the same time while the computer is off. While still pressing both keys, hold down the Power button for one second, and then release the Power button and the keys.
To do this, you need to open the Choose an option screen.
- Start your computer and press the F11 key repeatedly.
- On the Choose an option screen, click Troubleshoot.
- Click Reset your PC.
- On the Reset your PC screen, click Next.
- Read and respond to any screens that open.
- Wait while Windows resets your computer.
