You can share files with anyone, including people without Dropbox accounts, by sharing a link to any file or folder. Shared links are view-only, and by default anyone with the link can view and download its contents. Dropbox Professional and Dropbox Business customers can add passwords and expirations to shared links.
Anyone can send you a file you've requested, whether they have a Dropbox account or not. All the files you collect are automatically organized into a Dropbox folder you choose. People who upload files to your file request cannot access your Dropbox account.
You don't need it unless you are using it to share data with other people. in Lightroom? You are welcome. If you are sharing the photos with other people, then you need to keep Dropbox or create a shared album in iCloud.

If you can't open files saved in your Dropbox on the Android app, it could be because the file is corrupted. Try viewing the file in a third-party application to find out if there's an issue with the actual file: Open the Dropbox app and navigate to the file. Tap on the arrow to the right of the file.
If the Dropbox app is running, make sure that your computer is syncing. If you can't see files that you expect to see in a shared folder, then you may have unintentionally deleted the folder. Check that the folder you're looking at is still shared: Sign in to dropbox.com.

Save files to your phoneOn your phone, Dropbox doesn't work the same way as it does on your computer. The apps for Android and iOS don't save and sync files to your device like the desktop apps for Windows and macOS do. Instead, they work like the Dropbox web app and show you your files in the cloud.
You can view and edit other Office file formats by opening them directly from the Office apps for mobile (Word, Excel, or PowerPoint). From the appropriate Office app, tap on the Account tab and connect your Dropbox if you haven't already. Once connected, you can access the files in your Dropbox from the Open tab.
By default, the Dropbox folder is located in your user folder. If you moved your Dropbox folder, or if you connected a work and personal, it may be located elsewhere or have a name other than "Dropbox." You can programmatically find the folder path through a JSON file.

On Android devices, offline files display an alert icon if they were modified while you were offline. These files then need to be manually synced. Dropbox has a history of hacking incidents due to the popularity of the system and the value of stored data. If Dropbox doesn't take serious action towards security, they could be hacked once again. A notorious Dropbox hack was the result of an employee using their company password on other websites.
For security reasons, sharing an account with others is not recommended. Sharing your Dropbox password with others also violates the Dropbox Terms of Service.

If the files that aren't syncing are in a shared folder, there are two common reasons: either you're no longer a member of that shared folder, or else there's a different version of the file in that folder. If you're missing a shared folder: Check the list of folders you can re-add to your Dropbox.
