You can manually log them by doing the following from your Fitbit app:
- On the Fitbit app dashboard tap the Exercise tile to open your exercise history.
- Tap the stopwatch icon in the top right corner.
- Tap Log.
- Tap a recent activity or search for an exercise type.
- Adjust the activity details and tap Add.

If you wear a fitness tracker on your wrist and you move your arms around (even if you aren't taking any steps) the sensor detects accelerations, which may be counted as steps. Conversely, if the sensor can't detect your changes in speed, it may not count steps.

- On your online dashboard, enable the 'Activity + Stats' tile. On the 2nd drop down select 'Daily'. You'll then be able to see your lifetime total as the last stat on the right.
- From your leaderboard, click on 'You'. This will take you to your profile page. Your lifetime stats will be listed on your right.
Troubleshooting stepsRestart your phone. Uninstall and reinstall the Fitbit app. Note: Before you uninstall the app, verify that your phone is running a supported version of Android OS. Remove all other Fitbit devices from your account and from the list of connected Bluetooth devices on your phone.
Click "Settings" Next to the words "Auto Step Tracking", tap on the box so that that the checkmark appears (box should appear green with a white checkmark). Make sure that all toggles are green. Then click "Done"
In order to change your daily goal from calories to steps; please do the following:
- Open the Fitbit app.
- Tap the tracker's tile (your tracker's image on the top right corner).
- Scroll down and under "General" tap on "Main Goal".
- Change it to steps.
- Sync your tracker.
