Amazon Alexa is more ubiquitous than ever and is now available in over 42 countries worldwide – and in a host of languages. After initially only being supported in the US, Canada, UK, India, Japan and Germany, Alexa can now work in far less obvious places, from the Cayman Islands to Cambodia and plenty in between.
You can change the location for your Alexa devices in the Alexa app:
- Select the Devices icon .
- Select your device, and then Device Location.
- Enter your complete address, and then select Save. To change the country, select Change next to the country name.
Please change your country settings to another supported country:
- Go to Manage Your Content and Devices.
- Open the Settings tab.
- Go to the Country Settings section, and select Change next to your current country.
- Enter your new address, and choose your new country. Then select Update.
Go to Manage Your Content and Devices and click Preferences. Click Change under Country Settings. Select or enter your address, and click Update.
Log into your Amazon account. Go to Accounts & Lists > Manage Your Content and Devices > Preferences. Click the arrow that's to the right of Country/Region Settings and you will see your current country. - Step 1: Navigate to the 'Routines' section in the Alexa menu.
- Step 2: Click the + icon in the top right corner to add a new Routine.
- Step 3: Select 'When this happens†and then 'Voice' to create your custom Amazon Alexa command.
- Step 4: Enter your custom phrase to trigger this routine.
How to browse for Alexa skills in your browser
- Open your web browser and go to Amazon.com.
- Hover your mouse over the Departments tab in the top left corner of the home page.
- Move your mouse down to the Echo and Alexa section to expand your options.
- Click on Alexa Skills under the Content and Resources section.
An Alexa Skill has two main components: a Skill Service and a Skill Interface. Your code is written in Node.js for the Skill Service which lives in the Cloud (Amazon AWS, Lambda, an HTTPS service). Restart your Alexa device and your smart home device. Disable and re-enable the skill for your smart home device in the Alexa app. Disconnect your smart home device using the Disable option for your device in the Alexa app. Then, re-enable your smart home device again.

Edit your skillKeep your skill up to date by going to the Skills You've Made page. Choose your skill, then select Edit to make changes. If you've shared your skill, only you have the ability to update it as the skill creator. Any changes you make will be immediately available to anyone you've shared your skill with.

You can reset your Echo device using the Alexa app on your iOS or Android smartphone.
- Go to Devices.
- Tap the Echo & Alexa icon at the top.
- Choose the speaker you want to factory reset.
- Scroll down to Factory Reset and tap it.
