Many families simply aren't aware that their child tax credit payments are higher if you have a child on DLA. This is because you qualify for an extra payment called the disabled child element of tax credits. This is worth an extra £65 per week for each child who qualifies.
You can get between £23.60 and £151.40 a week in Disability Living Allowance (DLA) to help look after a child who has a disability or health condition. DLA isn't means tested, so how much you earn doesn't impact how much you can get. The money can be spent on anything.
Your child's DLA payments will stop unless they apply for PIP by the date given in the letter. If they apply by the date given in the letter, they'll continue to receive DLA until their claim is assessed.
It's possible for a child suffering from attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) to be classed as disabled and so to be entitled to a statement of special educational needs. As such, your son could be entitled to Disability Living Allowance (DLA).
There is no way to track your DLA claim online or determine a response time. But, the date of your claim is usually the date the DWP receives the application form or the date you contact the enquiry line.

Once you have submitted your claim for PIP, it takes the DWP 12 weeks on average to give you a decision. The decision will be given in the form of a letter from the DWP.
If you claim Income Support or Jobseeker's Allowance you should normally either be not working or working on average less than 16 hours a week. Partners of people receiving Income Support/Jobseeker's Allowance are able to work for, on average, up to 24 hours a week, without their partner's entitlement being affected.

Universal Credit will replace Jobseeker's Allowance, Housing Benefit, Working Tax Credit, Child Tax Credit, Employment and Support Allowance and Income Support over the next year. If you're making a new claim, you'll have to apply for this instead, depending on where you live.
Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI)SSDI is the first program you may consider if depression has disrupted your ability to work. To qualify for the program, you must: prove you haven't been able to work for at least 12 months. have paid Social Security through paycheck deductions for the last 5 out of 10 years.
If you earn more than your Work Allowance, your Universal Credit payment will be reduced. For every £1 you earn above your Work Allowance, your Universal Credit payment will be reduced by 63p.
Personal Independence Payment (PIP)It has replaced the old Disability Living Allowance (DLA). You get: £57.30 per week (standard payment) £85.60 per week if you're more seriously ill (enhanced payment)
The daily benefit amount is calculated by dividing your weekly benefit amount by seven. The maximum benefit amount is calculated by multiplying your weekly benefit amount by 52 or adding the total wages subject to State Disability Insurance (SDI) tax paid in your base period, whichever is less.

People with progressive conditions can be classed as disabled. However, you automatically meet the disability definition under the Equality Act 2010 from the day you're diagnosed with HIV infection, cancer or multiple sclerosis.
DLA is the only benefit specifically available to children with autism.
They will need to meet all the eligibility requirements. The DLA rate is between £23.60 and £151.40 a week and depends on the level of help the child needs.
If you're getting Personal Independence Payment (PIP) or Disability Living Allowance (DLA), it will continue to be paid along with your Universal Credit payment. They won't affect the amount you get in Universal Credit.
You may get more Child Tax Credit if your child gets DLA or PIP, because there is an extra element of Child Tax Credit included in the calculation. Make sure you tell the Tax Credit Office what rate of DLA or PIP your child is getting.
If you get Housing Benefit then getting DLA for your child may increase the amount of Housing Benefit you are awarded if you are not already getting your rent covered through Housing Benefit in full. Housing Benefit is means-tested so your income and capital will affect whether you qualify for the benefit.
TS is considered a disability under UK law, which prohibits people with the condition being discriminated against because of it.
