Scan images in Image Capture on Mac
- Connect your scanner to your computer, then turn on your scanner.
- In the Image Capture app on your Mac, select your scanner in the Devices or Shared list. If you don't see your scanner in the list, see Set up a scanner.
- Scan your images.
Image Capture is an application program from Apple that enables users to upload pictures from digital cameras or scanners which are either connected directly to the computer or the network.
Transfer Photos to a Mac Computer
- Connect the camera directly to the USB port of the computer.
- Turn on the camera. If the iPhoto® software automatically starts, close it.
- Copy the photos from the camera. Open Finder. Select Go.
- Paste the photos to the computer. On the Finder Bar, choose Go, All my files and then select Pictures.
The easiest way is to download a photo transfer app to your PC. This allows you to both download and upload photos between devices. You can also use the Google Drive app. You can then upload your photos Google Drive on your PC, and they will sync to your phone.
Windows. Hit the PrtScn button/ or Print Scrn button, to take a screenshot of the entire screen: When using Windows, pressing the Print Screen button (located in the top right of the keyboard) will take a screenshot of your entire screen. Hitting this button essentially copies an image of the screen to the clipboard.

Import Pictures and Videos Wirelessly to a Mac Computer
- Set your computer as the device that import files from your camera wirelessly. Make sure that a memory card is inserted in the camera. Power on the camera. On the camera, set the USB connection mode of the camera to MTP or PTP.
- Start the transfer process. On the camera, select Menu. Select Setup.

How to download photos from iCloud via the Apple Photos app
- Go into your device's Settings app.
- Tap your name at the top of the Settings menu. Tap your name at the top of the Settings menu on your device.
- Select "iCloud." Tap "iCloud" on your Apple ID page.
- Tap "Photos."
- Select "Download and Keep Originals."
You can use Image Capture to transfer images and video clips to your Mac from many cameras, iOS devices, iPadOS devices, and other devices that have a camera. Once you transfer the items, you can choose to delete them from the device.
IMPORT IMAGES
- To import a single image, drag it it from the Image Capture window to your desktop. (Or any folder in which you want to store it.)
- To import multiple images, select them first then drag them where you want.
How to untrust your computer from iPhone and iPad
- Step 1: Open Settings on your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad.
- Step 2: Navigate to the General > Reset section.
- Step 3: Now tap on the Reset Location & Privacy option.
- Step 4: Confirm that you wish to reset all location and privacy settings on your device.
On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 10.3 or later, tap Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Photos. If you're using iOS 10.2 or earlier, tap Settings > iCloud > Photos. Then select Download and Keep Originals and import the photos to your computer.
It's possible that the software on your Mac or the operating system of your devices are too old to support the photo transfer and make you can't import photos from iPhone to Mac. Here is the software you need to update. (This tip is also helpful when you can't import photos from iPhone to Windows PC.)
If you see an "iPhone has timed out" message or your device unexpectedly disconnects when you sync it with iTunes, there might be an issue with the USB cable connection to your device. You see a "The connection to the iPhone was reset" message when syncing or backing up your device.

Launch Image Capture via Spotlight
- Click the magnifying glass icon at the right of the menu bar (or press Command + Spacebar on the keyboard).
- Now type Image Capture.
- The Image Capture app should appear in your search results.
Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Printers & Scanners. If you don't see your scanner in the list at the left, click the Add button . If a pop-up menu appears, choose Add Printer or Scanner. Select your scanner, then click Add.
Move photos from iPhone to Mac using Finder
- Connect your iPhone to your Mac with a USB cable.
- On the Mac, open a new Finder window.
- In the sidebar, under your Devices, click on your iPhone.
- At the top of the window, click Photos.
- Check the “Sync Photos” box.
- Choose the app or folder that you want to sync from.
If your scanner, camera, or other device doesn't work with Image Capture, you may need to install software that makes your device compatible (see Set up a scanner). If your Mac has an SD card slot, you can insert your camera's SD card into your Mac to transfer images.
Make sure the scanner is plugged into an electrical outlet and turned on, and that its cables are securely connected. If you previously saw a scanning option and you don't see one anymore, try deleting the scanner (or multifunction printer) and adding it again.
To change these preferences, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Printers & Scanners. Click a device to see information, including its location and status. To add a printer or scanner, click the Add button , then choose from the list or type the device's information into the dialog that appears.
How to Take Pictures with the Mac Webcam
- Open the Photo Booth application, it's found within the /Applications/ folder on every Mac.
- When you're ready to take a picture, click the red camera button to begin a countdown to snap the photo.
- Take additional pictures as desired.
