Deregister a Device. You can deregister a device from your Amazon account if you no longer want to use it to purchase apps or in-app items. Items you purchased from an Amazon store will remain available in the Cloud and can be downloaded again. After deregistering, you can register your Device to another Amazon account
When you deregister a Kindle, this Kindle is no longer connected to your Amazon account. So, your ebooks can no longer be found on this Kindle. Your ebooks are still on Amazon Kindle: Welcome - login, then go to “Manage your content and devices”. From this place you can download your ebooks again, to any other Kindle.
Attach the Micro USB end to your Kindle Fire HD and the USB end to your computer. Your Kindle Fire HD should then appear as a drive in Windows Explorer or the Mac Finder. You can now click and drag files from your hard drive to the Kindle Fire HD or use the copy and paste functions to accomplish the same thing.
It means you can't download books on to a child's Kindle, deregister it so they can't access the Whispernet, and register it again when you want to add more books. It means that if you lost your Collections, deregistered and reregistered to bring them back, you'd have to redownload all of your books.
To deregister a device from a Kindle reading app:
- Visit Manage Your Content and Devices.
- Select Your Devices.
- Select your device or app and select Deregister in the Actions column.
- To confirm, select Deregister again on the pop-up window.
Restart your Amazon Fire tablet
Press and hold the power button until your tablet restarts automatically. If it restarts before the 40 seconds are up, release the power button. If it doesn't restart automatically after 40 seconds, release the button and press it again to turn on your Fire.Tap on your menu tab, go to Settings, Device Options, Personalize Your Kindle, then Advanced options. If the Whispersync component in not enabled, tap on it and enable it. If your books are still not syncing, your Whispersync Device Synchronization is most likely disabled on your Amazon account.
Go to Manage Your Content and Devices and locate your Kindle content. From the Actions drop-down, select Download & Transfer via USB. From the drop-down, select your Kindle Fire, and then click Download to download the content to a folder on your computer.
If the screen on your device is frozen, try holding down the power button for 7 seconds. A menu should come up that will allow you to select an option to restart the device. If the menu fails to pop up, try manually restarting the device by holding the power button down for 40 seconds.
Once you're on the Amazon website, click "Kindle" then "Manage my Kindle" in the top navigation bar of the Kindle section. Scroll down the page to see a list of all the books you've ever bought and downloaded for your Kindle. To re-download a book, click the tick-box next to it to open a drop-down menu.
First method:
- Turn on your device by pressing Power button.
- Enter Settings.
- Tap Device Options and then choose Reset to Factory Defaults.
- Tap Reset to start the whole process.
- Congratulations! The hard reset as just been finished.
Restart your Amazon Fire tablet

- Drag down from the top of the Home screen to reveal the Status bar.
- Tap Settings.
- Tap Sync and Check For New Items.
There's also a Web button in among the list of libraries that you can tap to open the Silk web browser. In a library, such as the Music library shown, you can tap the Device or Cloud tab located in the top-middle of the screen.
How to Back Up a Kindle to Your PC
- Connect your Kindle to your PC through a USB cable.
- Open the "Documents folder" in the Windows Explorer window for your Kindle.
- Disconnect the Kindle and open the folder on your computer to which you copied the files.
