iOS and iPadOS: Open Settings > account name > Password & Security and tap Edit to the right of Trusted Phone Numbers.
To remove a trusted phone number, click x icon next to the phone number you want to remove. Presumably, if this is someone else's iPad, they will have to do the removal. Alternatively, you may be able to see & remove their device from the Devices list on your Apple ID page.
Remove your phone number
- On your iPhone, go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive. Select your Apple ID at the bottom of the screen and tap Sign Out.
- If the phone number that you want to remove belongs to an iPhone that you can't access, change your Apple ID password. This removes all phone numbers from your iPad, iPod touch, and Mac.

- On your new phone, install the Google Authenticator app.
- In the app, tap Get Started.
- At the bottom, tap Import existing accounts?
- On your old phone, create a QR code:

Turn off 2-Step Verification
- On your Android phone or tablet, open your device's Settings app Google. Manage your Google Account.
- At the top, tap Security.
- Under "Signing in to Google," tap 2-Step Verification. You might need to sign in.
- Tap Turn off.
- Confirm by tapping Turn off.
If you're signing in and don't have a trusted device handy that can display verification codes, you can have a code sent to your trusted phone number via text message or an automated phone call instead. Click Didn't Get a Code on the sign in screen and choose to send a code to your trusted phone number.
Answer: A: If you have setup 2-step verification, you cannot login without the code. That's the whole point of 2-step verification. By logging in to your AppleID in a web browser with your password and recovery key, you can set a new trusted device and/or SMS text number to receive codes at.

Accounts with two-step verification

Account recovery is a process designed to get you back into your Apple ID account when you don't have enough information to reset your password. To get verification code without a phone all you need to do is get an online phone number to receive SMS. But you have to get the number form the right source for the right purpose. FelixMerchant is a provider of online phone number for sms verification.
You are required to provide a telephone number in order to create an AppleID. No way around that requirement. And you would not be adding it to your iPad as an iPad cannot have a telephone number associated with it other than when linked to an iPhone.
A 6-digit verification code is a temporary security code that you will receive to access your account. It change with each new connection. Do not confuse this code with your personal password. To receive the validation code, choose SMS or email.
Download and install Textnow/Textplus app on your iPhone/Android/Windows phone. We will use this custom number to install WhatsApp without SIM verification. You cannot. Two factor authentication relies on having a phone number or another Apple device in order to receive verification codes. You can add another trusted phone number if you choose as it doesn't need to be an iPhone, just a phone that can receive text messages.
If you've just discovered that your iPhone is lost, act quickly and try to find your device using the next steps:
- Navigate to iCloud.com then go to "Find my Phone".
- In your iCloud account click on "All Devices".
- Once here, click on the device you need to locate.
- Go to "Notify me when found" and activate it.
One of the ways to unlock an Apple ID without a phone number is to use the two-factor authentication system. If you have this feature enabled in your account, all you need to do is access one of the trusted devices and tap on an option to unlock your account.
Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive and make sure the correct mobile number is displayed under the 'START NEW CONVERSATIONS FROM' section. You can also try to reset your network settings on your iPhone.
