Notifications help you keep track of what's new—they let you know if you missed a call, if the date of an event moved, and more. You can customize your notification settings so you see only what's important to you. View and respond to notifications on the iPhone Lock Screen or in Notification Center.
Tap and hold the rearrange button to the right of the app name, and then drag the app up or down to reorder the list as it will appear in the Notification Center. Tap Done.

Your Android phone relies on a data connection to pick up new messages and then notify you about them. If you don't have a strong connection, your notifications will be delayed as a result. This problem can occur if your phone is set to turn off wifi when it is sleeping.
Open device Settings. Navigate to Apps and notifications or Application Manager or Apps depending on your device and software version. Tap the three dots present at the top right corner and select “Reset app preferences”. A pop-up window will appear.
If you're not getting notifications when a new message arrives, you can change your notification settings by opening the app settings and making sure that "Messages" is selected under Notifications. Once you have the Messenger app working again, the Facebook app should stop sending message notifications automatically.
Make sure App Notifications are turned on. The exact path differs across different manufacturers but it will be something like Settings > Sound and notifications > App Notifications. Try clearing cache data from the Facebook app and Messenger app. If notifications still don't appear, try reinstalling the app.
Go back to Settings and choose General settings. Select Manage Notifications here and make sure that Mail is set to On. This will take care of in-app notification settings for the Gmail app. Wait for a few hours to see if you are receiving mail notifications.
