The Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 series continue to run Android 7.0 Nougat, and interestingly enough, they also retain the September 2018 security patch that was last released over two years ago.
To check for updates and download the update from the Samsung servers, follow these steps:
- From the Home screen, tap Settings.
- Tap Software updates > Download update manually.
- The device will automatically check for an update if one is available.
- Tap Install to update.
