Israel's Sayeret Matkal is another of the world's most elite units. Its primary purpose is intelligence gathering, and it often operates deep behind enemy lines.
India has launched 342 satellites for 36 different countries as of 28 February 2021. As of 2019, the Indian Space Research Organisation, India's government space agency, is the only launch-capable agency in India, and launches all research and commercial projects.

SpaceIL successfully launched its Beresheet lander on 22 February 2019 at 01:45 UTC; it entered lunar orbit on 4 April 2019 at 14:18 UTC. Beresheet was the first Israeli spacecraft to travel beyond Earth's orbit and was the first privately funded landing on the Moon.
The CNSA operates three launch facilities: Jiuquan, in Gansu province; Taiyuan, in Shanxi province; and Xichang, in Sichuan province. China's space program evolved largely in secret under the joint control of the Chinese military and the Commission on Science, Technology, and Industry for the National Defense.
On 11 April 2019, when its main engine malfunctioned during descent, the lander crashed on the Moon's surface. Though the mission ultimately failed, Israel was the seventh country to have a spacecraft orbit the Moon.
The Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM), also called Mangalyaan ("Mars-craft", from mangala, "Mars" and yÄna, "craft, vehicle"), is a space probe orbiting Mars since 24 September 2014. It made India the first Asian nation to reach Martian orbit and the first nation in the world to do so on its maiden attempt.
Aditya-L1, India's first solar mission to study the sun, will be launched next year in the third quarter, confirmed Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
To meet national needs, the UK Space Agency is responsible for ensuring that the UK retains and grows a strategic capability in the space-based systems, technologies, science and applications.
While the Turkish Space Agency was established on Dec. 13, 2018 with a decree, the country determined its vision, strategy, target and projects in the space policies field with its National Space Program, which was revealed in February 2021 by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Japan participates in US and international crewed space programs including flights of Japanese astronauts on Russian Soyuz spacecraft to the ISS.
While there are about 2,000 active satellites orbiting Earth at the moment, there are also 3,000 dead ones littering space. What's more, there are around 34,000 pieces of space junk bigger than 10 centimetres in size and millions of smaller pieces that could nonetheless prove disastrous if they hit something else.
Although satellites are designed to give good service for seven years, the average of lifetimes of those in Table 2 is almost nine years, if the launch failures are not counted as satellite failures.
Inmarsat, the world leader in global, mobile satellite communications, confirms commercial service introduction (CSI) of GX5, the company's newest, most powerful geostationary satellite to date.
In 1967, Australia became the third nation to design and launch a satellite to orbit the earth. It was launched at Woomera on 29 November 1967, making Australia only the third country in the world to build and launch its own satellite, behind Russia and the United States.

They travel at speeds up to 17,500 mph, fast enough for a relatively small piece of orbital debris to damage a satellite or a spacecraft. There are half a million pieces of debris the size of a marble or larger (up to 0.4 inches, or 1 centimeter) or larger, and approximately 100 million pieces of debris about .
July 23, 2020, at 12:46 p.m. Russia conducted a weapons test using one of its satellites earlier this week, the U.S. Space Force's top officer says, an allegation that if true would represent a troubling escalation of space-based warfare at a time of increased attention on the new prospective battleground.
This satellite is operated by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and was successfully placed in its intended sun-synchronous polar orbit in April 2019. EMISAT is India's first electronic surveillance satellite and is one of the powerful electronic intelligence/surveillance satellites.
