The F-600 is a Super Duty chassis cab with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of 22,000 pounds. Technically, that GVWR rating means it's a Class 6 truck and would compete with medium duty offerings from Chevrolet and Ford's on F-650. But, it's obtained on a Class 5 size Super Duty.
Body Options and TowingWith the F-650 Pro Loader configuration towing capacity ranges from 20,500 to 26,000 lbs. The F-650 Straight Frame model is slightly higher at 39.4-inches and rides on larger 22.5- inch wheels. This configuration offers a towing capacity from 25,600 to 29,000 lbs.
Although this can also vary from configuration to configuration, the F-550 can reach a conventional towing limit of 18,500 pounds with either engine. If you switch to gooseneck or 5th-wheel towing, you'll be able to haul up to 31,600 pounds with the V8 diesel, or up to 20,400 pounds with the V8 gas.
F-550 need to be aware of a few key differences: The F-450 can be had as a pickup or as a chassis cab. The F-550 is only available in chassis cab configurations. Heavy-duty pickup trucks tend to be better at towing, while chassis cab models tend to offer more impressive payload specs.
The GVWRs are where you are really going to start seeing the difference between the F-650 and F-750. The F-650 starts at a GVWR of 20,500 pounds for the Pro-Loader and goes as high as 29,000 pounds. Meanwhile, the F-750 has a maximum GVWR of 37,000 pounds with the 6.7L Power Stroke turbo-diesel engine.
With the available 6.7-liter V8 Power Stroke diesel engine, F-600 delivers gooseneck towing capacity of 34,500 pounds and a maximum GCWR of 43,000 pounds, according to the manufacturer.

The pickup's base price had risen considerably, to $1,580. That sounds like pocket change by today's standards, but customers thought it was expensive in 1956. The 1956 Ford F-100 pickup also had a new optional V-8, bored and stroked to 272 cid as in Ford cars.
Originally, the F-Series ½ ton pickup was known simply as the “F-1.†In 1953, to commemorate Ford's 50th anniversary, the name of the ½ ton F-Series pickup changed from "F1" to "F100" (so you can stop looking for those missing 99 pickups). It was the best sales year Ford had for pickups since 1929.
