Oyster. Oyster is a smartcard scheme from Transport for London. Your Oyster card can hold pay as you go credit, Travelcard and season tickets. You can also use your Oyster card on Thameslink trains in the London Travelcard area.
London Terminals is better defined as the first National Rail terminal you travel to rather then allow travel between terminii. The exceptions are the old Southern stations which are interconnected and the Moorgate line and definitly not London Underground. Tickets can only be used on National Rail services.
Re: is it cheaper to book thameslink tickets in advance? There isn't a benefit in buying the rail tickets in advance for the journeys you plan to take. The National Rail ticket office at St Pancras closes at 2100 on Saturdays.

If you do not tap on, you may be fined for travelling without a valid ticket. If you do not tap on but do tap off at the end, you will be charged the default fare. But Argus readers raised concerns about what will happen if passengers forget to Tap Off. A bus company spokeswoman said: “You will be charged the full single fare to the end of the route, so always remember to tap off in order to pay the correct fare.”
As a general rule a Travelcard is more expensive than an Oyster card or Contactless payment card. The exception is if you make 3 or more journeys for 6 days or more within a 7 day period. In this case a 7 day Travelcard works out cheaper than an Oyster or Contactless payment card.
