To know if G-SYNC is enabled for your game. To verify whether G-SYNC is enabled for your game, click Display from the NVIDIA Control Panel menu bar, then select Show indicator for G-SYNC. The indicator will appear on your screen to let you know whether G-SYNC is turned on.
If you run into a more demanding situation in a game that requires your graphics card's framerate to drop, then G-Sync will drop its refresh rate frequency to match the new framerate that the GPU is working at. This eliminates screen tearing and stuttering and helps games feel much smoother to play.

Gsync makes a world of difference. It's the biggest difference in how our games are displayed that has come along in a very long time. It makes all those variable framerates between 30fps and 144hz actually enjoyable and smooth, instead of having to suffer through screen tearing, stutter and lag.

G-sync eliminates screen tearing, which occurs when your gpu is putting out more or less FPS than your max refresh. But on a 60hz gsync monitor (it's an example) if the gpu is doing 55fps, then your monitor is doing 55fps as gsync allows it to display usually in the 30fps to max refresh rate of monitor range.
Both technologies improve monitor performance by matching the performance of the screen with the graphics card. And there are clear advantages and disadvantages of each: G-Sync offers premium performance at a higher price while FreeSync is prone to certain screen artifacts like ghosting.
How to enable G-Sync on your PC
- Right click on your desktop.
- Select NVIDIA Control Panel.
- Expand the display item in the sidebar.
- Click on set up G-Sync.
- Check the box next to enable G-Sync.
- Below this choose whether you want G-Sync enabled for only full screen or full screen and windowed modes.
Both standards are capable of delivering a good gaming experience, but if you want a great gaming experience, right now DisplayPort 1.4 is generally better than HDMI 2.0, HDMI 2.1 technically beats DP 1.4, and DisplayPort 2.0 should trump HDMI 2.1. However, DisplayPort is still the preferred standard for PC monitors.

The PS5 does not have 144hz, but it can play 120 fps on a 1080p monitor. So far the PS5 will output in 60Hz and 120Hz, at 720p and 1080p.

4K/60 is the best bet for a monitor! Keep in mind that hz isn't frames per second. Most new tv's are 4k by default, and the good ones also do 120hz already.
As long as your TV has an HDMI 2.0b connection, then it should be fine for PS5. If you've got a Full HD TV with 1080p resolution, and somewhere to stick a HDMI cable, we imagine you'll be just fine and don't need to upgrade.
