Microsoft has just announced standalone, freemium versions of Word, Excel and PowerPoint for the iPhone, iPad and Android devices. The new Word, Excel and Powerpoint are available for free download from the App Store, all coming with basic editing capabilities for documents under each app.

Open the Google Play Store and tap on the search box at the top. Type in “Microsoft Office” and tap Search. From the list, install the apps you want to use (Microsoft Word for Tablet, Microsoft Excel for Tablet, Microsoft PowerPoint for Tablet, Microsoft OneNote and/or Microsoft Outlook).

Create a file
