With 1TB of space, gamers will have more room to keep games that are several gigabytes in size on their consoles. The launch of the 1TB console also means that the previous version of Microsoft's Xbox One, featuring 500GB of storage, is now cheaper. The console has been offered at $349 as a "special" price.
It took 19 minutes to transfer 3 games (118.3 GB) over from the internal hard drive to this external hard drive. Will update if anything arises. In Stock. i hooked this up to the
Xbox One and that's about it.

Luckily, the console supports the use of external drives, making it easy to expand your storage space for games and other content. External drives must be at least 256GB and support USB 3.0 on Xbox One. The console has a 16TB limit on external storage size, rendering most drives compatible.
Because in the June system update announcement it states: "Your Xbox One system will soon support up to two external hard drives at once. Simply plug in your 256 GB or larger USB 3.0 external hard drive and once formatted, copy and move games, apps and game add-ons to increase your storage capacity at home."

Plug in a 2TB hard drive and you'd raise the capacity of your Xbox One from 500GB all the way to 2.5TB. A faster drive could even make your games load faster. To see what's using space on each hard drive, head to All Settings > System > Storage on your Xbox One (shown at the top of this article).
Xbox One S Tip: Upgrade Your Storage. While Microsoft's initial run of Xbox One S consoles includes 500 GB, 1 TB and even 2 TB options, users will eventually face the same issue we see on smartphones and tablets: That storage will simply fill up as we install apps and games.
The best way to see what the
size is of the console is to check your
storage space in the settings as mentioned by Jeremy.
Also, you can go to the storage option on your console.
- Settings>
- System>
- Storage> Then look at the available storage.
The easy, Microsoft-approved way to expand your Xbox One's hard drive space is to add an external hard drive. This means you'll be able to keep everything you have stored on the internal 500 GB hard drive while still adding as much extra storage space as you want. It has a capacity of at least 256 GB. It uses USB 3.0.
For Xbox One external storage support, your external drive will need to be USB 3.0 compatible and have 256GB or more free space available on it. When you plug it into the console, the Xbox One will recognize that you've attached an external hard drive, and you'll be asked if you want to format it (you need to).
The Xbox One has USB 3.0 ports, and a 3.0 external drive loads games just as fast, if not faster, than from the internal drive. An SSD is only going to give marginal performance past that.
The first step to upgrading your Xbox One's internal storage is choosing which external hard drive you want to use. The Xbox One can actually support up to two 256GB or larger USB 3.0 drives, meaning you can expand your internal storage exponentially if you're willing to fork out a couple of hundred quid.
To move games onto your external drive for transfer, follow the steps below.
- Open the Settings app on Xbox One.
- Navigate to the System tab.
- Select Storage.
- Scroll over to the right to select the internal drive.
- Select Transfer.
- Select items you plan to transfer.
- Choose Copy selected to copy the items between drives.
If you own a Microsoft 360, you don't need a memory card at all. When Microsoft first launched the console, the company closed down storage compatibility so regular USB storage devices would not work. This meant Xbox 360 owners needed the memory card to store save files, profile info, videos, etc.
Answer: Yes, you can play games from the disc without hard drive offline but cannot download games online and play it. For Saving game progress, you don't need a hard drive, since it can be saved with 256 mb memory unit which comes free with arcade version of the console.
Mounting a SD card on a computer to use as a hard drive requires that it is formatted so the operating system can recognize it. A SD card is a more portable "hard drive" than those found inside of or attached to computers.
Now you can use your USB flash drive like any other Xbox storage device. For information on how to copy and move content between storage devices, see Copy, move, or delete Xbox saved games, profiles, and avatar items. You can only plug two USB flash drives into your Xbox 360 console at once.
The Max Memory 2GB can be extended with a Micro SD card with its built-in slot, and it supports SDHC cards. This means that you can plug in a 16GB Micro SDHC card and have a very small 18GB storage solution for your Xbox 360 in your pocket.
Original Xbox 360:
You can connect external HDD to an Xbox via one of the USB ports (on front or back of your console). You cannot use your HDD for anything else than Xbox games (without formatting again to computer readable format like FAT32 or NTFS).Install a Flash Drive As a Memory Unit on the XBOX 360
- Step 1: Try Out the Flash Drive. First, see if your drive fits into any of the ports.
- Step 2: Get an Extension Cable. See if you have a USB extension cable lying around.
- Step 3: Connect. Plug the drive into one end of the cable, and plug the other end into the USB port on the XBOX.
You may be able to hook up a larger external hard drive to the Xbox, but once the 360 formats the device, it will set the cap at 32GB of storage space. Also, the minimum Xbox 360 will accept is a 1GB flash drive, as the Xbox 360 will reserve 512MB of space on the drive for system use.
