Obtaining a Fishing LicenseIn order to legally fish in the Hocking River, you will need to obtain a state fishing license. Here are four locations near the river that provide licenses to visitors. One-day fishing licenses and three-day fishing licenses are also available.

Rose Valley Lake is a beautiful lake that you have to drive up a mountain to reach. For Pennsylvania, its wind is relatively consistent and the direction doesn't seem to matter much. It's a Fish and Boat Comission lake, so no swimming is allowed.
Hemlock Bridge and Whispering Cave is a 1.9 mile heavily trafficked out and back trail located near Logan, Ohio that features a cave and is rated as moderate. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
