Making a call
- Connect the headset to a smartphone or mobile phone beforehand.
- Operate your smartphone or mobile phone to make a call. When you make a call, the dial tone is heard from the headset.
- Press the + or - button to adjust the volume.
- To end the call, press the button on the headset again.
Notes: Noise cancellation and volume control will continue to work as long as the battery has a charge. When you connect the 3.5 mm audio cable, Bluetooth will turn off and the 3.5 mm audio connection will be used to play music. When using the audio cable during a call, the microphone in the audio cable is used.
Most earphones and earbuds feature a four-band 3.5mm TRRS connector (with four sections separated by three insulators), which provide an additional audio channel such as a microphone input added to the stereo output; TRRS plugs work well in computers with integrated microphone and earphone jacks.

In Windows, You can set your internal laptop mic as the Default Recording device this way:
- Navigate to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Sound.
- Select the Recording tab.
- Plug in your earbud/mic headset, then you should see the headset device appear and it will change to the default device.
Use Headphone Mic on PC. Find the microphone, also known as audio input or line-in, jack on your computer and plug your earphones in to the jack. Type "manage audio devices" in the search box and click "Manage audio devices" in the results to open the Sound control panel. Use Headphone Mic on PC.
How to enable or disable the microphone.
- Click the Start button and then click Control Panel.
- In the Control Panel window, click Hardware and Sound.
- In the Hardware and Sound window, click Sound.
- In the Sound window, on the Playback tab, click to select Speakers/Headphones and then click the Properties button.
How to Turn Off Headphone Mode on Android
- Remove your headphones from the phone again.
- Clean the headphones jack.
- Restart your Android phone.
- Do a soft reset of your phone.
- Use an app to override audio controls.
- Do a hard reset or a factory reset.
Turn Off Microphone Access for the Google App
- Open Settings on your phone and select Apps & notifications.
- Tap See all X apps to get a full list.
- Scroll down to Google and select it.
- Tap Permissions and select the Microphone option.
- Choose to Deny the permission.
There is no way to change default microphone. Normally device use the inbuilt microphone as default unless you manually connect another microphone like handfree.
Your headset mic may be disabled or not set as the default device on your computer. Or the microphone volume is so low that it can't record your sound clearly. Right click the Headset Microphone and click Enable. Right-click it again and select Set as Default Device.
To install a new microphone, follow these steps:
- Make sure your microphone is connected to your PC.
- Select Start > Settings > System > Sound.
- In Sound settings, go to Input > Choose your input device, and then select the microphone or recording device you want to use.
If you want to enable or disable one or more mics, you can use these steps:
- Open Settings.
- Click on System.
- Click on Sound.
- Under the "Input" section, click the Manage sound devices option.
- Under the "Input" section, select the microphone.
- Click the Disable button.
- Repeat steps No.
How to swap between headphones and speakers
- Click the small speaker icon next to the clock on your Windows taskbar.
- Select the small up arrow to the right of your current audio output device.
- Select your output of choice from the list that appears.
Can you Use Apple Headphones as a Microphone on PC. Although Apple's wired headphones do connect to android devices and PCs, they aren't fully compatible at times.
iPhone
- From a Home screen, navigate: Utilities > Voice Memos.
- Tap record .
- Speak into the microphone.
- Tap play. to listen to the recording. You can also attempt a FaceTime call or use Siri to test the audio.
Apple says they were three years in the making. These in-ear headphones have a built-in microphone for making calls and an inline remote with volume and transport controls. The EarPods are included with all of Apple's new iPhones and iPods and will also be offered as a separate accessory for $29.
Here's how to talk on a phone call using your iPhone headphones:
- Answer a call: Click the center button while your iPhone is ringing to answer it.
- End a call: Click the center button while talking on your iPhone to end the call.
- Decline a call: Hold the center button while your iPhone is ringing to send it to voicemail.
When it comes to choosing an external microphone for your iOS device, you have two options. You can either use a plug-n-play iOS compatible microphone that directly plugs into your iPad or iPhone with a lightning to USB cable. One end goes into the USB microphone while the other into the lightning connector port.
To enable microphone on iOS (iPad, iPhone, iPod) go to Settings → Privacy → Microphone on your device. Find Yousician on the list and enable microphone access by tapping on the slider (so that it turns green). If the microphone is not working, check instructions from Apple for troubleshooting.
