Please note, there are no train services running on Christmas Day (Friday 25 December) and only a very limited number of services will be running on a small number of routes on Boxing Day (Saturday 26 December).
Public transport services are currently running a full schedule of services. Onboard capacity (sitting and standing) is operating at 50% capacity. Public transport capacity will increase to 75% on Monday 19th July 2021.
All other Dublin Bus services are currently operating as normal.
On Boxing Day, the following services will be running a reduced service: the Tube, DLR and Trams, Emirates Air Line. There will be reduced services running on the London Overground, too on North London and East London lines. There will also be reduced service on TfL Rail between Paddington and Heathrow.
St Stephen's Day will see Dublin Bus operating a Sunday service on all routes including the Airlink. Nitelinks and tour services will not run.
There is no public transport on Christmas Day. On Christmas Eve, public transport starts to wind down from early evening and there are usually no night buses. Some taxis are available, although these may charge more on Christmas and Boxing Day.
Unlike Christmas Day, which saw transport networks across the country shut down, trains do indeed run on New Year's Day.
A Sunday service will operate on New Year's Eve with last departures on most routes at around 10pm. Nitelink services will run with most routes starting service at midnight and many operating until 4am.
On Christmas Eve, TFL will be running a reduced service from 4pm on all lines except the Waterloo & City and Circle lines.
A bus is a subsystem that is used to connect computer components and transfer data between them. For example, an internal bus connects computer internals to the motherboard. A bus may be parallel or serial. Parallel buses transmit data across multiple wires.
Horse-drawn buses were used from the 1820s, followed by steam buses in the 1830s, and electric trolleybuses in 1882. The first internal combustion engine buses, or motor buses, were used in 1895.
Tuesday 1st January 2019 (New Year's Day) – Special timetables similar to a Sunday service will run until around 6pm. Wednesday 2nd to Friday 4th January 2019 – Special Monday to Friday timetables will run. During the daytime some routes may not run as often as normal.
Today, Dublin Bus will continue to operate a Saturday service on all routes before launching into its Christmas schedule. The last departures on all routes on Christmas Eve will leave at around 9pm.
